For this edition of Offsight Leaders & Innovators, we’re sitting down with
Ryan Ambrose, Director of Finance Process, Data, and Technology at
Mortenson, where he drives financial strategy, process improvement, and technology adoption to deliver measurable outcomes across large, complex construction projects. Ryan has extensive experience managing Mortenson’s investments in digital tools, data integration, cost performance, and overall project ROI. In this Q&A, Ryan joins Offsight CEO
Vikas Murali to share insights on the financial and strategic value of prefabrication, how connected technology and AI are transforming the industry, and the operational shifts contractors must make to maximize the benefits of
offsite construction. V: Some commercial asset classes are adopting prefabrication faster than others. From a financial perspective, which sectors, such as healthcare, data centers, advanced manufacturing, or energy deliver the strongest ROI from prefab, and what characteristics make them good candidates for offsite construction?
R: I think one of the great advantages of the prefabrication and modular business is its ability to span multiple sectors. That flexibility is powerful. A strong operating model is less tied to any single market sector and instead focuses on the project scope or the product itself.
