Offsight evolved from the many years of experience our founders gained while working in the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) industry. Our founders, Vikas Murali and Andrew Xue, were technology consultants for some of the world’s largest engineered-to-order manufacturers. In 2014, they began their journey in prefabrication & offsite construction by working directly with their design for manufacturing clients to implement software solutions specifically for managing production, quality control, materials flows and labor.

The founders recognized a recurring challenge among their clients, many who continued to rely on poorly adapted spreadsheet solutions to manage complex commercial projects from the shop floor. The platform and spreadsheet tools they were leveraging failed to track critical production data accurately from the shop floor, resulting in project delays, increased labor costs and missed milestones.

They realized that the technology solutions on the market weren’t designed for the unique needs of project manufacturers, who relied on various manufacturing workflows that change from project to project. In order to help the industry manage these disparate workflows in one simple solution that connected everything from production tracking, quality control and factory level project management, they decided to build a new solution from the ground up. Hence Offsight was born, a comprehensive tool tailored to meet the dynamic requirements of prefabrication and offsite construction.
